Imagine Reducing both Robbery and Rape

The 74% Reduction in Violent Crime at Kennesaw

1. With more guns, there are fewer defenseless citizens

Why do senior politicians have a posse of armed guards around them wherever they go? Are they telling you the truth when THEY have guns to protect them but say YOU don't need a gun to protect you? Isn't it hypocritical to say: Do as I say but not as I do?

Violent crime is on the increase, but only in gun-free zones. There's a very simple way to protect you and your loved ones from criminals and gun violence, and it's NOT to create your own gun-free massacre zone Open Page in a new Tab or Window.

Actions speak louder than words, realize the deceit of any person or politician who wants you disarmed and vulnerable yet has armed guards protecting them. Keep your family safe by taking responsibility for their safety!
The rise of ISIS and islamic terrorists all across the world is horrifying, yet if all their victims were armed, would Christians - including their children - be slaughtered and beheaded in such appalling numbers? 2. Encouraging guns in responsible hands reduces crime even more

Violent crime in Kennesaw decreased rapidly when they encouraged their responsible citizens to defend their families from violent criminals. Their violent crime rate (blue vertical bars) was 79% lower in 1985 than in 1981! The blue comparison line (right hand scale) shows their violent crime was 50% of the USA average (red bars) before their ordinance was passed, and it's been down around 20-30% ever since.

With such low crime, the small numbers effect can make percentage changes look very large - a change from one to two is a 100% increase! Kennesaw had just 3 more violent crimes in 2014 than 2013, which looks like a big increase on the blue comparison line, but the short blue vertical bars tell the real story. Using a three year moving average helps even out such apparently large swings.
Normalization. This comparison calculates the number of violent crimes per 100,000 people (the blue and red vertical bars) to compare Kennesaw's crime with the whole country. The FBI calculate normalized crime rates in the United States each year Open Page in a new Tab so you can compare cities and years to see differences in crime.

If your population is 10,000, then normalization multiplies your number of crimes by 10 to produce your crime rate. If you have 500,000 people, then divide your crime by 5. When you compare the normalized crime rate - the number of crimes per 100,000 people - you eliminate differences in population.

CAUTION. Although investors all assess your city's desirability, the FBI strongly cautions against ranking cities by their relative crime rate Open Page in a new Tab. So we just compare your crime to the US National Average so investors can see if your city is likely dangerous or safe. Ask how well does your crime rate attract investment?

3. A firearm protects you and your loved ones

Police officers know that increasing the number of police patrols in an area decreases crime. Criminals fear armed police, so more armed police naturally result in less crime. But if you decrease police patrols elsewhere to do this, their crime goes up!

But the Crime Prevention Research Center show that criminals are not that afraid of being arrested, they're far more afraid of being shot. Just as more armed police decreases violent crime, more armed responsible civilians also decreases violent crime. There's abundant evidence proving that other people's firearms protect you and your family from violent criminals. The study by the respected CPRC Open Page in a new Tab or Window found:

"Murder rates fall as the number of adults carrying concealed handguns increases."

It went on to find:

"The six states that allow people to carry concealed handguns without a permit have much lower murder and violent crime rates than the six states which try to stop people having concealed handguns."

4. The Harvard University Academic Study

Dr. ‪Don Kates‬ (1941 - 2016) is one of the foremost criminologists and scholars on the Second Amendment, the fundamental right to self-defense and bear arms.

A renowned civil rights advocate, Professor Kates published numerous criminological reviews on gun control laws and their ineffectiveness in reducing violent crime. He deserves much of the credit for making the Second Amendment a vital topic of scholarly interest.

Dr. Gary A. Mauser is Professor Emeritus at Simon Fraser University in Canada. Professor Mauser has conducted research on the politics and effectiveness of gun control laws for many years. His interest in firearms and "gun control" grew out of his research into Political Marketing and Manipulating Public Opinion.

Professors Kates and Mauser investigated the Democrats' mantra that "more guns mean more deaths" and showed they do NOT. In fact, they found the empirical evidence proves that firearms protect you from gun violence. Democratic claims that the US has the industrialized world's highest murder rate was also found to be false, it is "politically motivated".

The following sections explore some of the eye-opening findings from their world-wide scholarly study at Harvard University: Would Banning Firearms Reduce Murder And Suicide? The original Harvard Law School link is now 404, but the full article is here (these links open in a new tab.) There's a brief summary here while Snopes' biased claim dismissing the Harvard Law findings is comprehensively refuted by Professors Kates and Mouser here. There's a comprehensive review here.

5. Violent crime decreases as more citizens can defend themselves

Header Underline
Professors Kates and Mauser showed that US laws permitting millions of qualified citizens to carry more guns have been followed by statistically significant reductions in murder and gun violence.

"During the last quarter of the 2000 century, the murder rate declined 27.7% while the number of handguns owned by Americans increased 160%.”

Violent crime rates are highest in states that flatly ban carrying concealed weapons, next highest in those that allow local authorities discretion to deny permits, and lowest in states where police are legally required to license every qualified applicant.

Since guns laws contravene the Second Amendment - which "shall not be infringed" - law-abiding citizens are forced to decide which to follow. Responsible citizens obey the Constitution and ignore gun bans and controls, encouraging yet more disrespect for politicians and their ever-changing unconstitutional laws.

6. Less Guns Result in MORE Crime

Header Underline
Their Harvard University Academic study also reports that developed countries which ban guns have murder rates far higher than those with high rates of gun ownership.

"Luxembourg, where handguns are totally banned and ownership of any kind of gun is minimal, had a murder rate nine times higher than Germany."

Data on gun ownership by area in both the USA and England show "negative correlation," which means: "where firearms are most dense violent crime rates are lowest, and where guns are least dense violent crime rates are highest." It noted the especially damaging impact of Britain's harsh gun ban:

"By the year 2000, violent crime had so increased that England and Wales had Europe's HIGHEST violent crime rate, far surpassing even the United States."

Brave 12-year-old Kendra who shot the home invader
When the home invader opened the cupboard door where 12-year-old Kendra was home alone and hiding, she shot him with the family gun. Her mother had advised her to hide with it while 911 dispatched the police. He fled and was arrested needing treatment for his wound. The intellectually dishonest maintain that young girls shouldn't be taught to defend themselves. But without a gun...

How much does it cost you - or a friend or neighbor - when you're the victim of violent crime? Using data from the FBI's Uniform Crime Reports and the National Crime Survey, Health Affairs in Bethesda estimated the average cost to the victim of each assault, rape, or robbery. All Open Page in a new Tab or Window

Violent crime resulting in psychological injury costs $47,000 for each rape. $15,000 for assault, and $19,000 for robbery. The costs are higher for survivors with physical injury: Each rape cost the victim $60,000, assault costs $22,000, and robbery costs $25,000.

And don't think your city doesn't suffer economically from each violent crime - recovering from crime wastes time and energy rather than creating new wealth. Health Affairs' crime costs include lost quality of life and unmet mental health care needs, therefore they're a lot higher than the Tangible Per-Offense violent crime costs in the Federal NIH study.

One of your loved ones could be the next violent crime victim and it'll cost you thousands of dollars. Encouraging gun ownership has a proven track record, it makes your neighborhood lots safer - even when you're not around. Can you and your neighbors afford NOT to do everything possible to protect your loved ones?

8. Criminals Fear Victims who could be Armed

Header Underline
The Harvard University Academic study Open Page in a new Tab also reports that large percentages of felons aborted gun violence because they feared their prey might be armed, that their victim could shoot back and injure them.

"The felons most frightened about confronting an armed victim were those from states with the greatest relative number of privately owned firearms."

Gun ownership was found to be "the reverse of the way in which criminal behavior is distributed" which disproves the endlessly-repeated but untrue mantra that more guns equal more death. The more guns, the more violent criminals worry about being injured - another way that even more guns cause even less crime.

9. Kennesaw's ordinance caused a 74% drop in crime

Header Underline

The city of Kennesaw, Georgia Open Page in a new Tab or Window passed the very first ordinance in 1982 to directly encourage all their households to be armed and able to protect their families - unless they can't afford it or object for any reason. It immediately caused their violent crime to plummet by 74 percent, compared to the modest 10 percent drop statewide. See the immense benefit to Kennesaw's economic development here Open Page in a new Tab.

The latest FBI report Open Page in a new Tab shows that Kennesaw's violent crime rate is less than half the US national average today. Their strikingly low gun violence has attracted both people and jobs, over 30,000 now call this city home. Said Cobb Chamber of Commerce President Bill Cooper:

"Companies have said they want to be located in conservative areas, "Kennesaw is home to more manufacturing businesses than any other Cobb city."

The truth about discouraging violent criminals is very inconvenient for gun control advocates and politicians whose guards all carry guns. Yet their armed guards contradict their incessant mantra that guns do not decrease violent crime. The complete rebuttal to their mendacious hatchet job is here Open Page in a new Tab.

10. Do the police approve?

Header Underline
Gun Control Survey courtesy of www.PoliceOne.com #6186552
Yes, the police approve - overwhelmingly! PoliceOne.com surveyed over 15,000 law enforcers in America Open Page in a new Tab to find where police stand on gun control. More than 91 percent support concealed carry by civilians who've not been convicted of a felony nor deemed psychologically/medically incapable.

The survey asked: "How important do you think legally-armed citizens are to reducing crime rates overall?" Three quarters answered armed citizens are important/very important in reducing crime, with more than half seeing legally-armed responsible citizens as VERY important.

The vast majority - 86 percent - feel that casualties would have been reduced in tragedies such as Newtown and Aurora if a legally-armed citizen had been present on the scene.

"Clearly a majority of our gun carrying, member officers feel that armed citizens are an asset in reducing violent crime and not a liability.
"Fear of the unknown or known gun carrier... has an immediate effect on reducing violent criminal activity."

Some cities as well as some police chiefs distrust even their law-abiding citizens to be armed - and yet wonder why so many of their citizens distrust the police in return... So ignore partisan political ideology and encourage your citizens to defend their family until the police get there! Just as more armed police patrols discourage crime, more armed citizens discourage violent criminals. Convince a criminal he'll likely be shot by his prey - and he won't attack. Open Page in a new Tab

Yet anti-gun activists conspire and plot to disarm responsible citizens like the armed civilian who stopped the burglar raining blows on a seriously injured police officer Open Page in a new Tab while rushing to vilify the officers who defended themselves from a cop-ramming carjacker when he pulled out a gun. Open Page in a new Tab

Police officers stress less when violent crime decreases, they have more time to deal with citizens' other concerns. Police performance and morale improve Open Page in a new Tab making the job more enjoyable, while keeping and recruiting officers becomes easier as your city becomes a more desirable place to live.

11. Responsible Citizens Love less Violent Crime and Rape...

Are you inclined to believe any of the mendacious stories about Dr. John Lott's ground-breaking study that More Guns cause Less Crime? Then see why it was found "devastating to gun-control advocates" here Open Page in a new Tab or Window.

If you still have any objections to encouraging your citizens to be able to defend their families or are not totally convinced that it will decrease violent crime and rape for your community including every single one of your neighbors, then see how to overcome the most common objections here Open Page in a new Tab or Window.

It's simple to discourage violent criminals. Encourage responsible households to be armed - unless they can't afford it or if they object for any reason. Then enjoy the results. Watch your violent crime drop dramatically since hardened criminals fear being injured by armed victims - and stop their attacks. Violent criminals also commit property crimes...

12. Support your Police and your Sheriff

Header Underline
The Founding Fathers understood that nobody would be safe without the means to defend and protect their rights. When a society does not possess the means to defend itself itself it's ripe for criminal violence and ripe for government oppression. Sheriffs agree, see Colorado Sheriff Shayne Heap's video (6:04 mins) Open Page in a new Tab or Window.

Your sheriff was elected to create and maintain a safe environment, to protect and serve your community, and to guarantee your rights under the Constitution. The more households with guns, the more people can defend themselves and violent criminals don't know who isn't armed - and who is!

The police can't do the job alone, they need your support to be successful in their solemn and sacred responsibilities. How can you help? Teach your whole family to use your firearms safely. Since violent criminals don't know who is armed, every extra gun reduces criminal activity for your whole community...

13. Protect your loved ones, encourage armed self-defense

170 million new guns, 51% decrease in violent crime since 1991
SCOTUS Justice Clarence Thomas
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas agreed with the judgment in McDonald v. Chicago (2010) that the right to keep and bear arms is applicable to state and local governments, but went even further in finding that an individual's right to bear arms is a fundamental privilege of American citizenship.

His concurrence in McDonald draws from a long and uninterrupted line of civil rights activists who preached the virtues of armed self-defense:

The great abolitionist leader Frederick Douglass, for instance, who famously urged President Abraham Lincoln to arm the liberated slaves against their former masters, was an outspoken champion of gun rights.

Founder of the pioneering Regional Council of Negro Leadership and a longtime ally of the NAACP, Mississippi doctor T.R.M. Howard saw no reason to separate the struggle for racial equality from the case for armed self-defense.

Stopped by police 14.3 deaths, stopped by civilians 2.3 die
Average deaths in a shooting rampage when stopped by police: 14.3. But average deaths when stopped by civilians: far less - just 2.3.

So discourage violent criminals and terrorists from attacking your people. Encourage your qualified, law-abiding citizens to be able to defend themselves, their family and their property. Both concealed carry as well as the discretionary ordinance are entirely optional - there's no penalty and they're exempt from complying if they object for any reason at all!

Despite media misunderstanding and much misrepresentation, Universal Gun Ownership is not coercive, it's neither Mandatory Gun Ownership nor Compulsory Gun Ownership. It's simply a choice to be prepared to defend themselves and their loved ones from a violent criminal in advance...
