1. How to Discourage your Violent Criminals

STEP ONE: Inform your violent criminals:
Warn your violent criminals that their risk of being shot and injured by attacking an innocent citizen is increasing...

  1. Create and regularly update your police website with stories about robbers being shot and injured such as 1 here, 2 here, 3 here, 4 here, 5 here, and 6 here. Truth About Guns, the Well Armed Woman, and Guns Save Lives carry many such stories, local ones have more impact.
  2. Notices. Put up notices in your police stations with the number of concealed carry permits in your City or State - this is the number of armed citizens who are ready to shoot a violent attacker. For more impact, regularly update the number of permits...
  3. Get your officers to spread the word. Get them to tell all criminals when just warned, booked, or released - whenever possible - that it's a good job they didn't attack anyone, with the current increase in armed citizens in your city they have a good chance - and an ever-increasing one - of being shot and injured by their prey.
  4. You want them to pass on the warning and let their friends know, how best to do this?
  5. Be sure to include being armed in the safety advice you give to your senior citizens, they do NOT want to be an easy mark for violent criminals who do NOT need to take their weapons - attackers are both younger and stronger!
  6. Publicize your crime decreases and successes on your website. Lauding your reductions in crime and successes in catching violent criminals is a good warning.
  7. If you feel comfortable about advertising, you can advertise the fact that your city is doing all you can to discourage your violent criminals. You may even wish to advertise that you also encourage your qualified, law-abiding citizens to concealed carry...
  8. These are just some of the many ways to convince your criminals to give up violent crime.
STEP TWO: Encourage armed self-defense:
Possible dollar savings for one small city

Hands counting savings
While becoming much Tougher on Criminals will reduce violent crime, improve your economic development, and increase your population which increases your tax take, you'll still need all your police officers. One city currently has 56 police officers for their 25,000 population, each officer costing around $60,000 a year.

Economic growth and a larger population usually need more officers, yet you won't need as many as usual because the lower crime rate makes their job less demanding and saves lots of money. You'll also deal with far fewer upset citizens and a far less violent population.

Kennesaw have just 1.9 officers per 1,000 citizens. If lowering this city's violent crime rate enables them to enjoy the same ratio of officers to citizens while also improving service, they would need only 46 officers for their 25,000 population. That's ten fewer officers at $60,00 each - total $600,000 - saving fifty thousand a month.

Actually, the increased economic growth will generate more tax revenues, while the increase in population needs few if any extra police officers. Another way your budget will benefit.

The crucial question:
How much does all your violent crime cost your city every month? Open Page in a new Tab Do you want to improve your budget? Then estimate how much money your violent crime is costing you...

170 million new guns, 51% decrease in violent crime since 1991
Winter Haven Police Chief Charlie Bird

"A gun in the hand of a citizen is better than a phone online with a 911 operator.
Because you can deal with [the problem] right then as opposed to whenever the officer arrives."

"With officers laid off and furloughed, simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option. You can beg for mercy from a violent criminal, hide under the bed, or you can fight back; but are you prepared?

"Consider taking a certified safety course in handling a firearm so you can defend yourself until we get there. You have a duty to protect yourself and your family."

"I was wrong, I'm going to get a permit and so is my wife. I've changed my mind. You need a way to protect yourself and your family.

"I never again want to be in the position where I'm approached by someone with a gun and I don't have one. There are too many people who are just evil and mean-spirited. They will hurt you for no reason.

"If more people were packing guns, it might serve as a deterrent."

Stopped by police 14.3 deaths, stopped by civilians 2.3 die
Average deaths in a shooting rampage when stopped by police: 14.3. But average deaths when stopped by civilians: far less - just 2.3.

So discourage violent criminals and terrorists from attacking your people. Encourage your qualified, law-abiding citizens to be able to defend themselves, their family and their property. Both concealed carry as well as the discretionary ordinance are entirely optional - there's no penalty and they're exempt from complying if they object for any reason at all!

Despite media misunderstanding and much misrepresentation, Universal Gun Ownership is not coercive, it's neither Mandatory Gun Ownership nor Compulsory Gun Ownership. It's simply a choice to be prepared to defend themselves and their loved ones from a violent criminal in advance...
